Modesty Survey by Guys

Ladies,

This is from the point of view from your brothers in the Lord. On the Mustard Seed Blog I posted Carolyn Mahaney’s  Heart Check. This is  is a survey that the boys from Rebelution did to show girls/women what guys find as a stumbling block. It is very well done.

It took me a bit to figure out how to get the results, but it is easy once you  get the hang of it.

Prayer Request

Mrs. Elsa is somebody who has come to Church with us and is sick and is in the hospital so please pray that she can go back home and do whatever she needs to do to stay healthy and that she will know that she is not lonely and has God with her. She also has suffered much loss in her family and she needs God to help her.

She desperately needs prayer so please pray for her, she has been a good freind to me and she has gone through alot.

Hi everybody,

Its Arielle here writing to you to tell you that I’m sick. I have Pink Eye and might not make it to church on Sunday. I have had the medication since thursday. So I might make we will just have to see. But I’m asking you all to pray for me PLEASE. my eyes hurt a lot and I can’t see. 

Let Christ Guide Our Bodys

3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
keep watch over the door of my lips!
4 Do not let my heart incline to any evil,
to busy myself with wicked deeds
in company with men who work iniquity,
and let me not eat of their delicacies! Psalm 141:3-4 

11 And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11

I tend to sometimes think that I can guide myself, but find out that I fail whenever I try. If I go my way and not the Lords way you will work hard to make your way work when God already knows the right way. God did not just die for us so we would be clean but he still guides us, and helps us when we fall. He will guide us when we trust him for he says in Psalms 34:15:

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.

Whenever we are having problems we need to pray and trust on Christ to help you and go to a spiritual Friend as well. God will help you and hear you if you trust in him. You can see that in Psalms 141 David is crying out and saying that he needs help. We all need help and if we don’t want to ask we might have pride and if we have pride we have a problem. Pride is the reason most of the time that we don’t want to tell what garbage we have in our hearts but we need to tell because nobody will be be suprised because we have garbage too.

When you have problems pray and then you can ask your parent and you could even put it in the prayer requests on this site. But remember to let Christ guide you!

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good [2] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. James 2:14-26

Pretend that you are walking and a person asks is you know and love God and then he/she asks how you show it, what would you say. If you have works and not faith alone you will have a good relationship with the Lord. When I don’t spend quality time with Christ he lets me know. works could be Caring for a brother or sister when they are in bad times or praising Christ or spending quality time with him. Christ could not give it to James any better. He tries to tell us that faith without works is useless. What are you showing when a non-believer sees that you believe but you show no grace, mercy or any other fruits will that help them. That might show them that Christians are just like any other people.

We need to be giving good fruits and that will make a difference when you show good works.

Happy New Year!!! To everybody it is now 3:07 and is 3hours and 7minutes into the New Year and its not feeling different. Anyway I just wanted to be the first one to post something about  the New Year. So I did. HA!

Calling All Girlies!!

I just listened to Carolyn Mahaney calded Biblical Womanhood. I wrote on it on the Mustard Seeds Blog. I think it is beneficial to all women of all ages and think it would be a blessing to all of you.  God has made you to be a helper, not just to your future husband. How cool is that, that God can establish His calling to Eve in your life even before you are blessed with a mate. There is a whole section directed to teen girls and single woman. It is worth the time to listen to

Christ’s work in Unified Families.

This culture train those around that unity between parents and their children  is unattainable! God’s plan is totally a different plan. There are time you may want to spread your wings and fly away from your parents, but God gave them to you for wisdom, encouragement , and yes at times correction. Value you their training, welcome it even when your flesh rises up against it. They are not your enemy! They are not perfect and they will make mistakes. “But where sin abound, grace abounds all the more” Give grace to your parents, it glorifies God when you and you will grow from these times.

I watched the video for “In a Little while” How great that a father and son can come together as friends and brothers in Christ for the soul purpose of glorifying God.
